ON THE FILM set
Though I started in the sewing room, I believe working on set provides invaluable understanding of how costumes perform. Taking on various roles makes me a more diverse, empathetic technician.
Make a point to learn something every day!
TRUCK/SET SWING Under designer Bernadette Croft, joining an established team for the final season was a privilege. As the swing, I interacted with almost everyone in the costume department and all the on set departments. I learned so much in the Star Trek universe!
PERSONAL DRESSER Under designer Marissa Schwartz, I was the main costume support for iconic leading lady Lauren Graham. I performed her alterations, made sure she had all the necessities for personal comfort, provided on set support and oversaw her costume continuity.
TRUCK/ SET SWING Under Designer Alex Reda and set supervisor Maria Popoff I provided support between the costume truck and the set for this long run sci-fi location/ studio shoot. Keep your eyes out for Lucy being ‘born’ from a tank of goo. Best and worst day ever!
ASSISTANT BG COORDINATOR Under designer Shelley Mansell and BG coordinator Diana Grunig, I organized daily labour, alterations, and stock while providing general support. Our biggest challenge was the riot scene, filmed with progressive costume breakdown over five days on location at Kingston Penitentiary.
